Transform a little glass jar/basket in to an adorable Easter decoration using etchall® dip ‘n etch. Dip ‘n etch is a re-usable etching liquid with the consistency of water. Use by “dipping” (submerging) glass objects to create an overall etched surface.

Step 1 - Cut the Bottle

Cut the empty soda bottle so the base is an inch or so taller than the jar you are going to etch. Save the soda bottle top to use as a funnel later in the project.

Step 2 - Mark the Level

Mark the container to indicate how much etchall® dip ‘n etch you’ll need to etch your jar to the desired height. Place the jar in the empty bottle, weighing it down if necessary. Add water until the water level is as high as you want to etch the jar. Take the jar out (shake off any excess water) and then mark the side of the bottle at the water level. Empty the water from the bottle and dry it well. Dry the jar off as well.

Step 3 - Cut Out Stickers

Cut etchall® etchmask stencils (or stickers in this case) using an etchall® Swivel Knife or an electronic cutting machine like the Brother ScanNCut. Weed the vinyl using the etchall® Detail Pick Tool.

Step 4 - Transfer the Stickers

Cut a piece of etchall® etchmask transfer sheet slightly larger than the stickers and use it to transfer the stickers to the clean, dry jar. Burnish the vinyl stickers on to the jar well.

Step 5 - Fill the Bottle

Fill the soda bottle with etchall® dip ‘n etch up to the mark you made in Step 1.

Step 6 - Cut the Bottle

Carefully and slowly lower the weighted jar with stickers in to the bottle with the etchall® dip ‘n etch. Let it sit for 15 minutes.

Step 7 - Remove the Jar

Carefully and slowly raise the jar out of the etchall® dip ‘n etch and set it aside, while you reclaim the etchall® dip ‘n etch in to the original container using the soda bottle top as a funnel.

Step 8 - Clean Up

Rinse the jar (with the vinyl still attached) well under running water.  Peel off the vinyl and rinse the jar well again. Dry thoroughly. Your jar is ready to use!

Your jar is decorated for Easter and ready to be filled with candy or used as votive holder!
