For my card, I decided to use Mary Vogel Lozinak‘s Sun Background stamp and the sentiment “Don’t let anyone ever dull your sparkle” from Plate 1398.

Here are the steps I followed to make this card:

  1. Stamp the Sun Background using black dye ink on white cardstock.
  2. Color in the areas you want to highlight with Copic markers. Trim tightly to the image.
  3. Stamp the Sun Background using black Staz On ink on a piece of acetate.
  4. Create a background on the underside of the acetate using alcohol inks. It’s important you create the background on the back because the alcohol inks are solvent based and would react with the Staz On ink. Trim tightly to the image.
  5. Create a mat using alcohol inks in complimentary colors. Trim to be slightly larger than the Sun Background.
  6. Cut, score and fold an A2 card using pearl cardstock.
  7. Stamp the sentiment, ”Don’t let anyone ever dull your sparkle“, on the card front with embossing ink. Heat emboss with black fine embossing powder.
  8. Adhere the acetate image to the background using Sakura Crystal Lacquer.
  9. Mount the combined image on the background and attach the entire piece to the pearl card with Miracle Tape.
  10. Add Swirls Finesse black rhinestones from Want2Scrap for a finishing touch. Want2Scrap bling is an easy way to polish every project!

What a great card, Joe. I love how you used the acetate stamped image over the top of the original stamped image, and colored with your alcohol inks. I think it made it really stand out beautifully.

Joe – your work is so beautiful!!! The coloring with the copics is lovely and the acetate overlay just brings it to life with the extra added dimension. Sparkle on!!!
