My head is still spinning with all the ideas and images from the CHA Winter Conference!! After a couple itinerary revisions to avoid the snowstorm in Chicago, arrived home late Wednesday night. Right after hugs and kisses to/from hubby, I got out the 3D lacquer samples from Sakura Hobby Crafts. I just couldn’t wait to work with this fantastic media!! There is so much I want to try with this product.
The first thing I did was to spread a thin puddle of the clear lacquer on a nonstick craft mat so it would dry overnight. Even before coffee the next morning, I hurried to my studio to check on my puddle. The result was a clear, smooth, flexible piece loaded with possibilities. So, I made a few more puddle prototypes 🙂 Next I’m going to try a different media on each of them–alcohol inks, stamping, mica powders. That will be my weekend project. Check back early next week to see what I learned.
